DAY 1 : Leave Home:
DAY 2 : ISTANBUL – CAPPADOCIA :
Arrive Istanbul and transfer to your domestic flight to Kayseri. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel for the night. Overnight in Urgup cave hotel.
DAY 3 : IHLARA VALLEY :
First morning after than breakfast we drive to southern side of Cappadocia on the way stop at the 13 th century Agzikarahan caravanserai. It is constructed to develop the trade about at every 40km. The gate is a fine example of Seljuk architecture and is a reminder that we are travelling one of the ancient caravan routes linking Asia to Europe. Arriving to Selime village where we begin our first walk, at the northern end of the Ihlara valley. The narrow, steep-sided Ihlara valley, dotted with rock cut churches, was once the favourite retreat of Byzantine monks. This valley was formed by primeval earthquakes and the was once rushing river is now a quiet stream. As we walk along the winding valley, with cliffs reaching up to 170m in some places , we see small garden cultures that originally would have provided for the colonies and made them self supporting. There are many rock-cut churches is this valley with valley with well-preserved frescos dating from the 9 th century. In the afternoon we drive to Goreme via the Underground City at Derinkuyu. 8 subterranean levels stretch 57 meters below ground. Overnight Urgup cave hotel..
DAY 4 : AKVADI / PIGEON VALLEY :
After a short bus ride w e trek thorough the Akvadi (white valley) eroded so perfectly by time, rain and wind during centuries. On our way following a seasonal river, many strange curious rock formations and fairy chimneys round us. If we are lucky we can also see some wild birds.(like hoopoe) and some wild animals(like fox). In 3h walk our way gets us up to Uchisar village where we have lunch break in a restaurant. Uchisar village is settled around a high promoter, which is called citadel. We visit it walking to the top where we have rewarding panoramic view on all the surrealist Cappadoccia area. In the afternoon we follow a path to the Pigeon valley, and we will see some pigionaries that is holy for Moslem people. at the end of the walking we arrive to Göreme. Overnight Urgup Cave hotel.
DAY 5 : SINASOS - KIZILCUKUR (Red valley ) :
Today our walk through Kizilcukur valley. Sometimes known as the ‘'red hole'' Kizilcukur is probably the hottest valley in region. Hidden in its array of fairy chimneys is The church with grapes where there are frescos depicting viniculture and fruit growing.(The vine produced here now is very sweet and heavy ) walking in Pasabaglari, known as the valley of the Priests. Many of the chimneys here are only partially divided, showing us the continuous erosion process. This valley is also noted for the many caves in the fairy used by hermits for their retreats and via Devrent valley come back to Urgup. Our final day in this region. Overnight Urgup cave hotel.
DAY 6 : CAPPADOCIA – KONYA – ANTALYA :
This morning we will leave Cappadocia and drive to Konya where we will visit the Mausoleum of Mevlana , founder of the Whirling Dervishes in the 13 th century. Then our scenic route takes us through will be spent by The afternoon is pent driving to Antalya. Overnight Antalya hotel.
DAY 7 : ANTALYA – PHASELIS - OLYMPUS – GULET :
In the morning we will visit the Antalya Archaeology Museum, one of the finest in Turkiye, with a wide range of exhibits dating from modern Turkey to the Paleolithic time. We drive to Phaselis , where we will go ashore for an easy walk on the beach to explore the Roman and Byzantine ruins. This area is so beautiful with its tree-lined beaches that Alexander the Great wintered here on his way to Alexandria, Egypt. Next visit is to a seaside ruin at Olympus reminds one of a jungle ruin and the setting is one of the most dramatic places in Turkey. Nearby, we hike to a place of ancient myth... a place where Homer's fire breathing monster, Chimera, once lived. In the afternoon, we proceed to Finike and board on our gulet meet with the captain and the crew. Overnight and dinner Finike.
DAY 8 : FiNiKE – KEKOVA :
O/n YACHT In the morning, we sail to see the mysterious submerged remains of a Lycian city lie along the edge of Kekova Island where with luck we may see Mediterranean dolphins at play. Swimming and lunch at Karaloz Bay. In the afternoon we sail to the fishing village of Simena. The fortress stands above Simena village. We have a panoramic view over this historic region of the Mediterranean, rich with coves where pirates once lurked. Overnight in Simena.
DAY 9 : KEKOVA – KAS :
O/n YACHT Sail from Simena to Aparlae, where we snorkel above ancient ruins long buried by the sea. After lunch we continue to Kas. Overnight in harbor at Kas where we may take advantage of the port's lively night life.
DAY 10: KAS – OLUDENIZ:
O/n YACHT Morning sail to Oludeniz. We have free time to enjoy this long curving sandbar, with time for swimming, wind surfing and parasailing, water-skiing if desired at your own expense. In the afternoon we drive to Kayaköy. This eerie ghost town was a Greek village of 20000 people until the exchange of population between Turkey and Greece. Those who would like to walk down to Oludeniz, may take nearly 1,5 hours optional walk to Soguk Bay where we all meet with our gulet to overnight.
DAY 11 : OLUDENIZ – AGALIMANI :
O/n YACHT In the morning we visit the Byzantine ruins of the island of Gemile. We cruise to Fethiye for lunch and visit this coastal town overlooking a beautiful bay strewn with islands. We spend the day in the coves of Fethiye Bay and overnight at Agalimani.
DAY 12 : AGALIMANI – EKINCIK :
O/ n YACHT Morning cruise to Iztuzu beach, one of the few sandy beaches along the Turquoise Coast where the endangered Caretta Caretta sea turtles come to lay their eggs. We will take a small fishing boat to explore the beautiful rock tombs built into the slopes above the of the cliffs. Along the way, we will visit the ruins of Caunos the ancient harbor city. Afterwards, we return to our small boat and will be taken back to our gulet. Overnight at Ekincik cove.
DAY 13 : EKINCIK - MARMARIS - KUSADASI :
This morning we set out for Marmaris a bustling harbor and resort town. Marmaris was once an important link in the Anatolia - Rhodes - Egypt trade route, today, its exotic bazaars and markets teem with brass and bronze wares, antiques and jewelry. After leaving our gulet and the crew, we set off on our drive for 4-5 hours to Kusadasi very close to the world famous ruins of Ephesus. Overnight Kusadasi.
DAY 14 : EPHESUS – ISTANBUL:
We rise up early and spend the morning at the marvelous Greco-Roman ruins of Ephesus, the fabulously preserved city where St. Paul and St. John lived. Ephesus allowed freedom for its inhabitants during its history, which included those who followed the Jewish, Anatolian, Roman or Egyptian faith, as well as the first traces of Christianity. The result was a wonderful mixture of cultures. Ephesus was once ancient Ionia, a center for the cult of Cybele, the Anatolian fertility goddess. Under the influence of the Ionians Cybele became Artemis and a fabulous temple was built to honor her. One of the seven wonders of the ancient world; the Temple of Artemis. After lunch, we visit the House of Virgin Mary, built in the first century which was believed to be her last dwelling place. Late in the afternoon we are transferred to the airport to fly Istanbul. We have our Farewell Dinner at the colorful Kumkapi district, accompanied by Gypsy music.
DAY 15 : ISTANBUL – Home :
